The beating heart of the city, bustling with cafés and restaurants, this square was given a makeover for its stint as European Capital of Culture in 2010. Lined with Baroque buildings, some covered with Zsolnay tiles, its originality lies in the imposing figure of the former Ghazi Kassim Mosque on its northern flank. You can also admire the Szerecsen (Saracen) Pharmacy, a small pharmacy museum, and Zsolnay Fountain, one of the emblems of the city.
