De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Among the buildings constructed for the 1929 World Fair, the pavilion designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) for Germany was considered to be a model of Rationalist architecture, which continues to inspire new generations of architects. Here, the finest materials (marble, onyx, travertine) coexist with those considered contemporary at the time, such as steel and glass. Taken down after the exhibition, it was reconstructed as faithfully as possible in 1986 and now hosts temporary exhibitions.
