The Vallée de la Thur may have been industrialised, but it has managed to preserve some of its natural beauty. Its villages (such as Willer-sur-Thur, Moosh and Ranspach), nestled at the feet of some of the highest mountains in the Vosges, are truly charming. The upper valley and the little Vallon d'Urbès, with wooded slopes covered with pastureland, are home to very rich and diverse flora and fauna. The landscape and fresh air also make this a great spot for hikers, who will particularly enjoy the Grand Ventron and the Cascade St-Nicolas waterfall.
