Tudor Place
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The landmark mansion and stately grounds of Tudor Place have dominated this block of Georgetown for some 180 years. Home to the prominent Peter family for six generations, the estate now functions as a house museum and a monument to old Washington traditions. The 5 1/2 acres of grounds surrounding the house are devoted on the north side to more formal plantings, including a flower "knot," a circular garden and a bowling green. The south lawn slopes in a broad green expanse. Against the south facade of the house is a border of old roses, a few dating from Martha Custis Peter's occupancy.
