Stadtplatz
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The Stadtplatz is simply a widening of the main road rather than a real square. The tall Baroque façades of its houses conceal older buildings, including an Italian-style arcaded courtyard at n° 14. The square is closed at either end by two towers. One bears the arms of the various possessions of the dukes of Burgundy as well as the Habsburgs, as a reminder of the marriage between Emperor Maximilian I with Mary of Burgundy, daughter of Charles the Bold.
