Excavations have unearthed - under the Moorish and Visigothic ruins - the vestiges of a Roman city including a 1C Patrician villa, a funerary monument, wells, silos, stables, a wine press and, below, the public baths. The sea used to come up to here and these baths were located near the port. They were frequented used by sailors stopping over there.
