It's not surprising that the main street through the centre of Vicenza should be named after Andrea Palladio, as many of the palazzi in the town were designed by the architect or his pupils. Note Casa del Cogollo at n° 165 (where the master is thought to have lived); Palazzo Da Schio in Gothic Venetian style at n° 147; Palazzo Thiene (the eastern façade of which is the work of Palladio, while the Renaissance façade overlooking the Contrà Porti dates from the late 15C); and Palazzo Trissino at n° 98.
