Between two tunnels, the Fiordo di Furore is the most striking gash in the coastline. The dark depth of the gorge's narrow sheer rock faces accompanies the roar of the wild sea, which on stormy days breaks with some force. It feels improbable to stumble upon the modest fishermen's huts clinging defiantly to the slopes. A coastal path skirts one of the flanks of the gorge, where contemporary creations chronicle local historic events.
