At approximately 160m, the hill of La Motte overlooks the Durgeon plain. The road up, full of hairpin bends, follows a Way of the Cross and goes through the old vineyards that made Vesoul its fortune. From the top, at the foot of the statue of the Virgin Mary (1857), there is a fine panoramic view of the Langres plateau, the Vosges, the Jura Mountains and, in fine weather, the summits of the Alps (viewpoint indicator).
