The gentle slope of the Ponte dei Tre Archi is particularly pleasant for pedestrians, who for once don't have to climb a flight of steps to cross the canal. However, it's not the most convenient bridge for boatmen and gondoliers who are often forced to lie down to manoeuvre their craft through one of the three arches of this bridge, built in the 17C over the Cannareggio canal. Fortunately for them, this was the last example of a three-arched bridge in Venice.
