Puy d'Issolud
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
At an altitude of 311m, this plateau is bordered by steep cliffs overlooking tributaries of the Dordogne. From the summit, the view, although fragmented, reaches out into the valley. Surrounded in Gaulish times by solid earthen and dry-stone entrenchments that made it one of the most formidable oppida in Quercy, this puy corresponds to Ancient Uxellodunum, the site of the last Gallic resistance to Julius Caesar after Alesia.
