Some 30km/18mi long from Vallorcine to Servoz, this superb valley separates the Mont Blanc range from that of the Aiguilles Rouges. Almost with each successive bend, the deep, narrow road lined by a resinous forest reveals a series of magnificent perspectives over jagged, snowbound peaks that reach up into the sky. Each of the resort villages is steeped in its own ambience and well worth a halt, offering the added bonus of countless outdoor activities.
