Tourist Chair Lift goes to the top of Mount Reigi and the site of a ruined castle. From the summit, enjoy the sweeping view over the valley below, where the River Tsuwano flows. Founded in 1325 by the Yoshimi clan, the fortress prospered for several centuries, before it was razed during the Meiji era when all the local lords had to surrender their goods to the emperor. On the return journey, we recommend stopping at the Taikodani Inari shrine, one of the largest of its kind in Japan.
