De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
In the 1950s, following the bombing of the port during WW2, four buildings on stilts were designed by architect Jean de Mailly: the complex, called the "Frontale du Port", a listed "Heritage of the 20C" site, enables visitors to stroll along the docks, blissfully free of traffic. Pierre Puget's famous caryatids (Atlantes), rescued from German bombs, still proudly support the town hall's balcony: one depicts strength and the other weakness. A number of cafés and little shops are dotted along the wharf, to the delight of strollers.
