The royal palace is one of the largest palaces in Europe, with a maze of 608 rooms and a staff of around 200. Although the king and queen run their offices from here and the palace is used for official functions, visitors can still explore its splendid royal apartments, guest apartments, the silver throne room of Queen Kristina, the royal armoury with its superb carriages, and the treasury room with its display of crown jewels.
