De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The sober exterior of this house, acquired in 1856 by Victor Hugo, gives no clue to its unexpected interior which reveals an otherwise unknown facet to the great man; his talents as a decorator. Woodwork, majolica, tapestries and fabrics cover walls and ceilings. On the third floor, note the look-out, a lovely conservatory with sea views where Hugo used to write. The garden was remodelled in 2002 using the writer's notes, and has regained its romantic character.
