To round off your trip to Villèle Museum, don't miss the Chapelle Pointue, a chapel standing on a hillside of eucalyptus trees. It was built as of 1841 at Mrs Desbassyns's request, for her slaves and neighbours, and has been the repository for her tombstone since 1866. The name is inspired by the tall, elegant roof with a lovely pointed dome. The chapel's neo-Gothic decor, destroyed in the 1932 cyclone, has now been restored.
