The largest man-made lake in Auvergne is 13km long and covers the former valley of the Cère over an area of 563ha. Its 69m-high gravity-arch dam is a hydroelectric plant built in 1945. Jet skiing, beach volleyball, chilling or supervised swimming, 124m footbridge (the "Passerelle Himalayenne") runs between two beaches, Plage d'Espinet and Plage de Rénac.
