This part of the Adriatic coast south of Ancona is named after the Conero massif (572m), which abruptly interrupts the series of sandy beaches that are characteristic of this region. Its rocky mass forms small coves, protected by steep cliffs, which are often only reached by boat or small paths; this is the case of the wonderful Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle. The scenic coastal road passes through some charming villages such as Sirolo and Numana.
