Rabelais Museum - Devinière House
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
This charming smallholding set in the countryside surrounded by vineyards and wheat fields was where François Rabelais was born and spent his childhood in the late 15C. Since 1951, it is the site of a literary museum spread over several buildings devoted to the writer: Rabelais house, a pigeon coop, troglodyte caves and a winegrower's house. Rich in drawings and art, ancient publications and portraits, the museum's layout espouses the spirit of this prominent figure of French culture.
