Built out of Arrábida marble in 1491, the Igreja de Jesus was designed by Boytac. The church is considered the first example of Manueline art. Its flamboyant portal and its three vaults all of the same height, which make it a hall church, are typical of the late-Gothic style. Inside, the walls of the nave and choir are partly covered with 17C tiles. The adjoining convent houses the Municipal Museum, whose centrepiece is the altarpiece by the Master of Setúbal.
