Located to the northeast of Downtown, this trendy neighbourhood encompasses both large, bustling avenues and a smart, very quiet residential part in the smaller streets set further back. Capitol Hill has an alternative side, with its tattoo artists, little bars and ethnic shops. A bastion of diverse communities, here you are as likely to be rubbing shoulders with eccentric gays as young yuppies and hipsters. But it's at night that the area really comes into its own.
