The horseshoe shape of the hill calls to mind a lucky charm. It is at once one of the best known viewpoints in the Lorraine region and one of those historic spots where the "spirit can breathe", in the words of Maurice Barrès. Considered to be a sanctuary of Lorraine, the hill, which has a "City of landscapes" whose mission is to acquaint the visitor with local biodiversity, is now a mixture of spirituality and geographical curiosity.
