Just next door to Parque Luz, one of São Paulo's few quiet spots, is the Pinacoteca do Estado. The venue, admirably restored by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, does full justice to the masterpieces of Brazilian art from the 19C to the present day. Artists on display include Lasar Segall, Willys de Castro and Antônio Parreiras, and also Niki de Saint-Phalle and Auguste Rodin.
