Built in 1695 for the archbishops' horses, this monumental horse trough fountain was transformed in 1732 by the inspector of gardens, Franz Anton Danreiter, into the monument we see today. It is adorned with a superb statue sculpted by Mandl, Der Rossebandiger (The Horse Tamer), and frescoes that depict, unsurprisingly, horses in action.
