The pretty village of St-Chély is located on the left bank of the Tarn at the entrance to a huge cirque formed, at the foot of the Méjean causse, by the superb cliffs of the cirque of St-Chély. Once over the Tarn, the Romanesque church, which sports a square belltower, the bread oven on the square, lovely old houses and orchards will catch the eye. Two resurgences cascade down into the Tarn, one of which runs into the Cénaret grotto, at whose entrance is a 12C chapel.
