Founded in 1609 by Constantin Brâncoveanu, the Horezu Monastery, with sculpted columns and whose two storeys of arcades catch the light, is organised around its church, masterpiece of the "Golden Prince". The Brancovian style is expressed in this 1692 building in its harmonious proportions, with discreet but sumptuous decoration. Floral friezes run on the external façades, while inside every single square centimetre is covered with paintings.
