Piazza di Pasquino
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The most famous and most loquacious of Rome's "talking statues" has dominated this square since the 15C. Since then, satirical comments, claims and even libellous remarks have been hung from the statue's neck. Known as pasquinades, these comments, still occasionally made today, were much feared by those in power. Pasquino is thought to have been a local tailor, who, it is said, had a very caustic tongue.
