The former defensive gateway, built in 1291 at the same time as the first fortification, is Riquewihr's most iconic monument. Bell tower, watch tower and upper gate to the town all in one, the Dolder is 25m high. A bell at the top, refounded in the 19C, used to warn the inhabitants of possible threats.
