This park, at the summit of Côte de la Montagne was the location of the building that housed the first parliament of Lower Canada, later destroyed by fire. Today the park features a monument to the memory of George-Étienne Cartier and another to Louis Hébert, Marie Rollet and Guillaume Couillard by the sculptor Alfred Laliberté. It commands a fine view of the Quebec Seminary, whose elegant lantern atop the seminary's central dome has become an iconic landmark of Old Quebec.
