The building, completed in the late 14C, has preserved its Gothic interior structure under magnificent layers of Baroque ornamentation. Three exuberant stucco bas-reliefs, by Ottavio Mosto (1695), adorn the façade. The ceiling, exceptionally high and magnificently decorated by Voget, and the monumental altar painting of the Martyrdom of Dt. James(Reiner) are remarkable. Note in the north wing the monument to Jan Václav Vratislav of Mitrovice designed by Fischer von Erlach.
