In 1916, Peter Kerr, a wealthy grain merchant, built this Scottish-style manor house on a cliffside. Around the house he created an English landscape garden designed by John Olmstead, which he planted with plants brought back from his travels around the world. Both house and gardens now belong to the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon.
