Dating from 1996, this is the largest 20C public building in Poitiers. Each façade has been designed with the light in mind: thick glass sunshades on the east side, a concrete curtain wall with a rectangular bay to the north and cast-concrete forms jutting out to the west, acoustic recesses in the audiovisual space. The building houses a valuable medieval collection with links to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
