Liberty Square is laid out as a pleasant park, with an artificial river (waterfalls and fountains) and sculptures dotted about. In the fine season, the place is invaded by strollers enjoying the green surroundings and outdoor cafés. Various edifices stand around the square, next to the administrative buildings erected during the communist period. Nearby is Vazraždane Square, dominated by the outline of the mausoleum-ossuary. In summer, podiums are put up for concerts to take place.
