The harmonious church of this monastery, founded in 1387 by warlord Mircea cel Batrân, is the scene of a great variety of ornamentation. In 1707, Constantin Brâncoveanu added the narthex. Among its frescoes - some of which are original, others date from the 18C, note the portrait of the founder in traditional costume surrounded by his sons. Fine iconostasis (1794 and 1907) with gilded ornamentation.
