The decision to drive a road through Rue Monge in 1868 revealed this 2C Gallo-Roman monument, thought to have been abandoned in the early 4C. In 1915-16, architect Jules Formigé rebuilt more than restored the amphitheatre of Lutecia. Part of the seating, the stage and the layout of the dressing rooms are still visible. Nowadays, boules competitions and football games take place here.
