This church is dedicated to Wenceslas I of Bohemia, the Roman Catholic patron saint of Bohemia and Moravia. Built in Romanesque style in the 12C, the church has been modified on numerous occasions over the centuries and now boasts a neo-Gothic style dating from 1883-92. St Stanislas chapel (16C) houses the tombs of the Přemyslid, an important dynasty in Czech history. It was in the dean of the chapter's house adjoining the cathedral that Wenceslas III, the last of the dynasty, was murdered in 1306.
