This 14-15C hospital spans an arm of the Pegnitz like a bridge in the form of two low-lying arches. A graceful oriel window adorns the façade on the Museumsbrücke side. The covered section of the bridge (accessible from the island behind the building) or the "courtyard of the Crucifixion", named after the Crucifixion group by A. Krafft to the north, is depicted by sandstone arches which uphold a wooden gallery, built to look after the elderly.
