A few kilometres out of Nuoro, the road takes you to the summit of Monte Ortobene (955m), which commands sweeping views over the region: Bitti plateau, Monte Arbo and the Baronia of Orosei, Oliena Supramonte, Gennargentu, Monte Gonare and the town of Nuoro.
