The High Gothic chancel was completed in 1332 but to continue it would have been necessary to demolish part of the ramparts, which at the time were still of use. Work stopped there and thus the cathedral is made up of an architecturally pure chancel flanked by a cloister, the galleries of which are topped by High Gothic vaulting. The treasury is in a room above the chapel of the Annunciation. Its showpiece is a remarkable 15C Flemish tapestry depicting the Creation, woven in gold and silk.
