Caught between the city's two major museums, the Archaeological Museum and the Capodimonte Museum, the working-class suburb of Rione Sanità is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Naples. Its maze of winding little streets lies in a small valley situated below Corso Amedeo di Savoia, which was laid out by Murat. After severe decline, the district has a new lease of life thanks to its inhabitants' many initiatives, and is worth visiting for its monuments and gastronomical treasures.
