The Confraternity of Mercy, founded in the 17C, comprises a beautiful Baroque church with a central plan. The church is home to six altarpieces which depict subject matters relating to the institution's works of charity. Note the Liberation of Saint Peter by Caracciolo, the Deposition by Luca Giordano, and, the jewel in the crown, The Works of Mercy, a beautiful painting by Caravaggio.
