The last remaining vestiges of the LU biscuit factory, established here in 1885 by Louis Lefèvre-Utile, were rehabilitated in 2000 by the architect Patrick Bouchain. It is now the Scène nationale de Nantes and the city's main cultural venue: drama, dance, music and exhibitions. Within its almost bare walls of concrete and brick, you will also find a bookshop, bar and even a hammam in the basement. A great success story!
