The largest railway museum of Europe (20,000m²) charts the history of the railway from 1844 to the present day. Footbridges reveal the interior of carriages, pits allow you to see underneath the locomotives and you can peer at the workings of the first electric machines. This carefully laid out museum shines the spotlight on its treasures, which include some lavishly decorated carriages. Outdoors, a 16,000m² railway panorama has been established in a delightful reconstituted railway station.
