The idea of showcasing the collections bequeathed to the Pushkin Museum separately, rather than leaving them to be swamped in the mass of the museum's other works, is no doubt the best tribute that could have been paid to the numerous "donators", were they artists or collectors. The museum, which is expected to reopen in 2023, will highlight the extraordinary quality of the donations.
