Upper Canada Village
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The Cornwall dam on the St Lawrence flooded some 8,000 ha/20,000 acres and eight villages founded by Loyalists in the late 18C. To recall this heritage, the buildings were dismantled and rebuilt, giving birth in the late 1950s to the Upper Canada Village, which depicts a town in rural Ontario from 1860-1867. More than 500 houses, churches, offices, shops and other structures were moved, making the 27ha/67 acres village one of Canada's most popular tourist attractions today.
