Here the waters of the Montagne noire are gathered to feed the canal du Midi. Riquer wanted to establish a town here, but the only buildings erected were related to work on the canal. Follow the shady path around the reservoir. Note the pumping station, overflow allowing excess water out to the Fresquel, the canal summit level and the ocean lock (1671). Around the water is a pleasant arboretum.
