Occupying the Old Customs House, it charts the waves of immigration, including the latest generations of arrivals, that have nourished Melbourne's rich identity. Among the installations, be sure to see the replica ship, which helps you imagine the extreme conditions in which immigrants travelled in the 19C, and the interactive theatre experience where you are put in the shoes of a government official in charge of interviewing would-be immigrants.
