Although manufactured goods sometimes occupy too much space here, the Meknes souks still make for a colourful experience thanks to the setting and atmosphere that reigns here. Often covered with vine arbours or reeds, they are extremely lively, noisy and full of surprises. The first souk you come to sells rugs and local arts; then, before arriving at the Great Mosque, whose minaret can be seen at the end of the little street, you reach the kissaria (fabric souk) under an archway on the left.
