The archaeological site of Moray (alt. 3 500m) is composed of three bowl-shaped amphitheatres, each with ten concentric superimposed tiers, from the smallest (at the bottom) to the broadest (at the top). It is assumed that these terraces of crops allowed the Incas to test new varieties of plants before spreading them to the rest of the country. Each level would simulate a different climate. The skilful behind this set-up gives an insight into the scope of this vanished civilisation's scientific approach.
